v_slab_compat-1.20-2.4 is the culprit. Looked at its mod page and found an update to it that resolved the initialization issue. Closing issue, sorry for false issue post. I really wish there was a better way to find out of date mods without going through the curseforge launcher or manually scrubbing through all my mods one at a time.

Could you try without any other mods installed?
I suspect another mod in your pack is breaking things? (the full logs may contain indications of this)
