Since the Display Panel can show graphics, is it possible to have a block that can watch and area? May be out of scope, but really cool

Yeah, this is not easy to do at all, not going to happen from my end. The Mystcraft dev was working on something like this a while ago, but I haven't heard anything from it anymore lately.
