Mechanical drying basin loses items

Short description:

The mechanical drying basin can get in a state where it loses a certain item instead of drying it. Note that this happens most but not all of the time; I'm not sure what I'm missing to cause it reliably, and some of my steps probably aren't actually necessary. Also, when it does happen, restarting Minecraft fixes it but restarting the world does not, and items other than rotten flesh (like saplings) will still work fine.

Steps to reproduce the problem:

  1. Turn off on_the_dynamics_of_integration.obtainOnSpawn
  2. If you had Minecraft open, exit and restart it
  3. Start a new superflat creative world. After this step, don't open up the pause menu at all until the bug starts happening.
  4. From the creative inventory, take a mechanical drying basin, a creative energy battery, a logic cable, and one piece of rotten flesh
  5. Place a mechanical drying basin
  6. Put the one piece of rotten flesh in it
  7. Place a logic cable next to it, then a creative energy battery next to that
  8. Wait about 2 seconds for the machine to finish working
  9. Take the one piece of leather out
  10. From the creative inventory, take a full stack of 64 rotten flesh
  11. Put the full stack of rotten flesh in
  12. Watch it all disappear without producing any leather
