Suggestion: Add Button in Config to Disable Shift to Pick Up Items

Hello,

I am playing on v0.1.11+1.19 of the mod in the Medieval Minecraft Fabric modpack v20.5. This mod specifies picking up items either by right-clicking or sneaking.

However, when mining out large sections underwater, the only way to quickly descend is to press the sneak button. This can cause issues with picking up items you don't intend to pick up and have explicitly removed with a filter.

My suggestion is to please add a button in the config (if possible) that would allow disabling sneak-to-pick-up-items.

Thank you!

This feature should already exist in Interactic. You can disable regular item pickup and bind it to an explicit key instead. Not sure exactly how it works with sneaking, but I think this should work.
Alternatively, using the Item Filter item in whitelist mode should allow you to work underwater without dealing with tons of clutter. Just remember to shift+right-click to activate it

Ah, okay. Thank you for the quick response! I will take a look again!

Sorry to prematurely close this issue.

Here's what I tried:

  • Disabled right click pick up and keybind pick up in Global Config Settings
  • Keybind right click pickup to another key

What I found is that the global disable of the right click pickup and the keybind pick up does NOT affect the shift pick up aspect. Additionally, keybinding the pickup to the a different key does not affect the shift pick up aspect either.

So essentially, the shift-to-pick-up items is perpetually on, regardless of the other keybind or config settings.

In addition, the whitelist mode would not be helpful in this case because it is easier to blacklist the items I don't want than to whitelist the items I DO want.

Re-opening the case as a suggestion once again as there doesn't seem to be any way to avoid the shift-to-pick-up-items issue.

Update: I tried whitelisting items, and even with an activated whitelist filter, I was still picking up all items when I pressed the sneak button, basically rendering the filters useless.
