Chinese name sorting is incorrect in the server

Have you updated to the latest version?

  • I swear I have tried it with the latest version!

What happened?

1.The server and client use the same version of mods (including Fabric and Cloth Config).
2.Start the server, and the client uses the Simplified Chinese language and enters the server.
3.Open a chest containing various items and click the sort button (sorted by name).

What did you expect to happen?

Correct sorting should be ensured in both single-player games and multiplayer servers.

Operating System

Windows

What's the filename of the mod you are using?

inventorysorter-fabric-2.0.5+mc1.21.4.jar

Minecraft Version

1.21.4

I'm afraid that this is a limitation of how Minecraft works. Servers only have English included as translations. Minecraft servers aren't supposed to be dealing with displaying text to clients.

Unfortunately the only course of action we have currently is to add this limitation to the documentation.

I do have ideas about making this a bit better in the future but it will take some time :(

Uniformly selecting one language for sorting within the server is also a feasible approach.
Anyway, we look forward to your good news. :)

Because Microsoft server authentication has been frequently crashing at the midnight recently, making it impossible to enter the server, the specific screenshots and sorted results will need to be provided tomorrow.

The name sorting within the server is not based on Chinese but rather on English.

The results of both are consistent.
