Complementary auto generated normals disappear on chests during break animations

What happened?
Auto Generated Normals disappears from chests while they are being broken, the highlights/shadows go away while the break overlay is there
Bug only happens on Iris, tested on OptiFine and it was fine

Yes Emin added normals to chests a bunch before I reported that, it can be seen on the image included
I re-tested just now without EBE on 1.2.5 and 1.18.2. It still glitches.
