Spellbook socket (apotheosis) mana gem +40 won't work [Bug]

Observed behaviour
Made a socket for the spellbrook and then put the gem inside and it does not work
Expected behaviour
I should receive +40 mana. Should be (535+40)
Steps to reproduce
Put a apotheosis gem inside a spell book using the sigil of socketing and the blacksmithing table (Specifically the mana gem)
