Suggestion

Making an option to have blocks just not placeable in the world instead of totally banned/unusable.
Why?
I was experimenting with a nice mod in 1.7.10 called MC+Cart by andykuo1, in a TerraFirmaCraft enviroment.
Sadly, his wooden cart comes out empty and you need to place a vanilla chest to have a storage on it, but even more sadly, I can't allow people to make a use of vanilla chest in TerraFirmaCraft because those allow exploits of various nature.
So if there is something that can be done about this woud be pretty great
The issue is that many mods have different handling of what/when/how items cause block placements. This is why all usage of items is banned.
I suggest you ask the dev of the cart mod to accept TFC (or other) chests. I think this can be done much more easily than me adding a whole extra level of complexity to the mod.
Well, I will ask him anyway, (even if he doesn't log-in in a month), but this feature, about "forbid only world placement" could have many uses which does not limit on this particular issue. It's still a pretty worth feature in the end...
(btw, while may be still nice being able to use tfc chests, vanilla chests have different storage sizes compared to them)
There is a mod which do exactly this stuff called DimensionGuard, but unfortunately that mod works only on server side, and more unfortunately, it's almost impossible to contact the dev (last active on mc forum in 2016)
In effect... using a tile entity which would place the block for you and other sort of things would cheat over the prohibition... anyway regarding DimensionGuard it's effectively weird; on CurseForge the description says that prohibits the use of an object, meanwhile on the minecraftforum thread it says that it prevents the placement of an object, but in the end it behaves as said in the minecraft forum description, prohibiting only the placement;
(and the sad part, it only does that on server side ç_ç)
More than TE's can abuse it. That's why banned items are contained within an item itself, Nothing can use the banned item unless specifically programmed to.
Use of an object covers placing of blocks as placing a block counts as using the blocks item form.
