Cannot right click pickup when custom pickup is true on multiplayer worlds

right click pickup is not working for players other than me on a multiplayer world i was hosting, tho crouch pickup does work.
Forge - 1.20.1
I have tested it using the newest version and it all works fine. Does it work in singleplayer? Is there anything in the server log when trying to pickup an item?

it works fine in singleplayer, I haven't tested this bug with a server. it just doesn't work in lan/essential mod worlds for other players, tho it does work for the host of the lan world. recently I've figured out players other than the host can pick up items only when the item is in the air. otherwise the item cant be picked up at all. this applies to seeing the item name too as the host can see it when aiming at the item but other players cant unless its in the air.
I think this is something related to how some other mods give items to players.
I use Thirst was taken mod and when potions are used they are dropped in the ground instead of giving to the inventory directly
sadly this has to be done on the mods side rather than this mod because my own mods are working fine with this mod on
