Issue description

Summary

When looking at a chest tooltip, sometimes the item present as a list "[icon] item1 x64", sometimes as a grid "[icon] [icon] [icon]", see screenshots below.

Changing the chest content sometimes switches the rendering mode, but if there is logic to when it switches, it escapes me.

Expected behavior

The rendering of chests should be consistent: always a list; always a grid; or maybe there should be a config for whatever people's personal preference is.
