Scrolling trough JEI recipes increases memory usage alot

When using JEI (1.12.2) i noticed there's a high memory usage suddenly when scrolling trough the recipes.

Talking like a gigabyte or 2 extra. Is this a known issue? Anything that can be done to fix this (workaround?)

This doesn't seem to happen when Optifine is installed.

Closing as optifine is closed source, and inspecting it's code to improve JEI might be against the license.
