Steps to Reproduce the Bug

Example:
Open jei side menu, try to type ‘flower’ or ‘flint’ into the chat box. If the bug is present, the ‘F’ key will not actually be visibly typed on first keypress.

Expected Behavior

Expected behavior is F registering on first initial keypress when typing in the menu.

Actual Behavior

The ‘F’ key does not register on first keypress.

This is also happening in 15.20.0.106 on fabric 1.20.1. As a workaround, you can unbind the key 'Select Search Bar' under 'JEI (Overlays)' - which is bound to F by default - and then it works.
