there doesnt seem to be any support for mods and only work in very very small modpacks

I don't have any code that makes it support mods out of the box.
It is up to the mod author to add support for JER, if they want their stuff to show up.

In older version there was the workaround with the profiling for ores in larger packs, but that hasn't been ported to the newer version.
