For version 1.12.2-4.9 there is an additional file to download called sources. I can't find any information in the changelog or the wiki that explains what the purpose of this download is for?

This file contains the sources of LagGoggles itself, which allow you to build it yourself, or use it when you're developing mods! Regular players do not need this, developers might. 😉
