[suggestion/complaining] poor version choice = poor nostalgia.

how am I meant to get my nostalgic rocks off if you use the most recent version of the game as a basis for the mods? the authenticity provided by the mod is shallow due to poor version choice. this really should have been written on a version of the game that actually had an equivalence on the console like 1.12.2, otherwise why would I even be playing a nostalgic themed mod? such a silly, poorly thought out design. and at least with 1.12.2 I would be able to combine these nostalgic themes with other mods that are nostalgic. this mod is trash etc etc, I'm done.
You're better off just simply playing the real legacy console edition.
The whole purpose of this mod is to adapt the legacy console edition into the modern versions of Minecraft.
Like, tell me, how would it be worth spending so much time on backporting a mod just to end up having the same exact version that LCE was left on, which can already be played??
as daniel said, if you want to play legacy minecraft just play legacy minecraft. this mod isnt meant to be a 1:1 recreation of lce, but rather a continuation of it into modern minecraft. if you want it on 1.12.2, you're free to make a pull request with a 1.12.2 version. also please dont make an issue if all you want to do is complain

If you want a 1.12.2 version, here's a few simple steps to do so:
There are many places where you can learn Java, W3Schools is a good resource: https://www.w3schools.com/java/, which should only take a few years to get used to.
After that, you'll want to become familiar with Minecraft modding: Kaupenjoe has some tutorials for how to get started: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbzPhyLcO8VP25dZ7kaUyAw, remember that it has been 8 years since 1.12.2 and that there will not be as many resources now. A good template to use is this: https://github.com/CleanroomMC/TemplateDevEnv.
All the resources are available for you to port Legacy4J to 1.12.2, with Legacy4J being open to community contributions.
It will probably only take you 5 years to bring this to 1.12.2, so I'll see you then!
