i am refering to the in game control tooltips the keyboard ones are extra annoying but i mainly want to disable them to use another mod for my controller

go to the User Interface section and disable the In-Game Tooltips option.
If you meant to disable it at all, it's possible, but only in the file config/legacy/client_options.json, changing the displayControlTooltips value to false
