On the latest 1.18.2 version I have not touched the config at all and it keeps doing this adding these .bak files

This strange config log on every startup may be related:

First you get a:
[modloading-worker-0/WARN] [net.minecraftforge.common.ForgeConfigSpec/CORE]: Configuration file C:\Users\mcake\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\config\legendarytooltips-common.toml is not correct. Correcting
Then you get about 40 lines like this:
[net.minecraftforge.common.ForgeConfigSpec/CORE]: Incorrect key client.colors.level0_start_color was corrected from -6723294 to its default, -6723294.
Seems like whatever is checking for changes fails. Perhaps this is the source of the backup files?

@MattB70 It seems you are correct, I am doing things a little non-standard with the configs for Legendary Tooltips which is causing some issues. I should be able to fix this with the next update, thank you for looking into this for me. I will reply again when the update is ready.

Not going to "pull the mod", a very small percentage of users are experiencing this. You can delete those files until the update is released.
