Some players may want to test the /setblock-based system for pasting schematics, but don't want to have to open to LAN or join a dedicated server. Alternatively, players may want to see (or record) the schematic being built over time, without having to resort to converting the schematic to *.mcfunction as in #288 or other methods.

I suggest that there should be an option to force the usage of the /setblock-based method for pasting schematics, for the reasons described above.

Describe alternatives you've considered
Combining #288 with some extra processing could allow users to get the same effect, but can result in data packs consisting of thousands of function files for very large schematics, which can be computationally expensive to work with.
