Hi, I cannot find the schematic file that Litematica is supposed to save to. I know it should normally be in .minecraft, but it's not in there, so IDK where my schematics are or where I should add my .nbt files. Thank you for reading this, and if anyone else has this problem or solution, do tell me, please. Or if you don't know where they could be, can you at least tell me how I can find those schematics in the files?
hey I got the mod and everything and it all worked apart from the whole files like ik it sounds weird but ima try to explain it so I got the mod it all works but when I want to get a schematic from google or somewhere else it says there is some permission problem can you help me I need it for my server I need to add builds and this mod won't work can you please help me asap
@uri2444 You gave basically zero information. How am I supposed to know based on that what you have done and what is actually happening? What type of schematics do you have? Do they show up in the Load Schematics menu? Is it only when trying to click on one (or load one) that you get an error? What is the exact error message?
So I have tried to follow along with everything here but still cannot find the schematics folder anywhere my resourcepacks folder is empty

I have also run litematic multiple times using forge fabric 1.20 files
If you are able to save schematics and just don't know where they are then do the following:
- Press Windows Key + R to open the Run Dialog
- Enter cmd and hit enter
- At the command prompt type "cd \" and hit enter
- Enter "dir /s /b *.litematic" and hit enter (in the attached screen shot I used a more specific file name to limit the results since I have a LOT of schematics)
- If results are returned check the folder(s) listed.
- If results are not returned but you have multiple hard drives type "d:" (or whatever the next additional drive you have is) and repeat from step 3.
In Linux you can go to a terminal prompt and do the following instead:
- Type "cd /" and hit enter
- Type 'find -iname "*.litematic" -print' and hit enter (the -print is probably not required but should be harmless)
- Again, examine any folders returned
I have checked that too :) some files are .nbt and some are .schematic. There are two .nbt files that are in the folder, and three .schematic. The only thing is I can't see the newer three .nbt files I put in the folder. They're all lower case.
Hello! I'm having an issue with Litematica (I use Curseforge). I'm putting .nbt files into my schematics folder (the one through resource packs) and they aren't appearing in the game menu. Out of the 8 .nbts currently in the folder, only 5 are visible in-game. I'm not sure if it's an issue with Curseforge, if it just randomly stopped working, but I would like to get the issue fixed (if possible!!). Thanks for any advice!
EDIT: I first noticed the problem about a week ago. The schematics I see in-game were put there before then
@s1lverm00n If you are for sure putting them to the correct Minecraft instance's schematics
directory, then check the file names. Litematica requires the file name extensions to be all lower case, otherwise it won't list the files at all.
@imbigmanburger Is the mod loaded, does it show up in the Mod Menu list or do you see the orange Litematica text on the F3 screen? The mod should create the directory when you launch the game, if it doesn't exist yet.
That doesn't look like the correct .minecraft
instance directory, since there are for example no mods/
and config/
directories either.
Open the Resource Packs menu, and then click on Open Folder.
(In future versions you can also open the schematic directory directly via all the schematic browser menus, but that code is currently still only in the 1.12.2 version.)
Go up one directory and then you are in the correct .minecraft
directory used by that instance.
Can you please stop spamming useless short messages in GitHub issues. I get an email and a Discord bot notification for each message. And any other people still subscribed to this issue report will also receive those emails. If you need more help, maybe join my Discord server.
hello,i got the litematica mod and i'm trying to import a schematic but there's no schematics folder in .minecraft, i tried the previous step here but it doesn't work for me,so is there another solution? or am i just misunderstanding it?
@Timmotyboi How does it not work? Does your file manager not open when you click on Open Folder in the Resource Packs menu? Which operating system are you using, and which Minecraft launcher are you using?
so i decided to fuck around and find out and made my own file called schematics to see if it would solve the issue but no
i checked in resourcepacks and there was nothing. also im using curseforge with fabric on 1.20.1 for this idk if it changes anything
i made this account rn just for this question and it did absolutely nothing lmao, anyway bye
@Josh6589 In the schematics
directory inside your game directory. If your launcher uses a different location than the vanilla launcher and you don't know where it is, you can use the resource packs menu to find it, see my above comments.
@NikkiGem2525 You are not looking in the correct instance directory. There isn't even a mods
directory in that .minecraft
directory. In your game instance that has the mod installed, go to the Resource Packs menu, click Open Folder, and then go from that resource packs directory one directory up. And there you should see both the mods
directory and the schematics
directory.
thank you!!!!! it was hard for no reason omg i was literally about to give up
Hello to anyone that is reading this, I have a issue regarding my schematics folder and my .minecraft folder. So yesterday I was trying to dowload the liteschematica schematic tool guide, and while I was doing the I realized shortly after that there was no schematics folder in my .minecraft folder, so can someone please help me!!!
@Minecraftside Is the mod loaded and working? Your launcher/profile probably isn't using this directory for the game instance you are playing. In-game, go to the Resource Packs menu, click Open Folder, and then go from that resource packs directory one directory up, and the schematics
directory should be there.
Omg I was reading all the messages up when they were saying go to ur resource packs so I was doing it in %appdata% but I was not reading in-game super sorry for wasteing ur time @maruohon
Well that's very odd. Was it a permission issue of some kind maybe? Which operating system are you on?
The default schematic directory is .minecraft/schematics/
.
Have you used different Minecraft instance/game directories before? Litematica remembers the last directory you had open in the file browser menus per-world, so if you copy over the config files to a different Minecraft instance, then it would still be pointing at the old directory. It's usually easy to see if that's the case, as the directory path in the file browser menu will then be pretty long as it's pointing to a long absolute path, instead of just in a relative location such as schematics > something
. A quick way to fix that is to click on the "root directory" button in the file browser menu, and then it will jump to the current .minecraft/schematics/
directory for example.

so you're saying if I were to open a file titled "XYZ" and then save a schematic to Litematica, it would be stored in "XYZ" and not the named "schematic" file?
I'm not entirely sure what you mean, but no? I was just talking about how Litematica remembers the last directory you were at in the file browser menus such as the schematic saving menu. If you haven't had Litematica installed before, or you have never used other .minecraft
directories, then don't worry about that, it would not apply in your case then.
Are you saying you don't have the schematics
directory inside your .minecraft
directory? Is Litematica loaded/working otherwise?
