Hey, sry for capturing this thread, but I've a question about a point left unclear in your documentation.
Do these treasure requirements for vanilla fishing apply to the auto-fishing barge?
To catch items in the treasure category, the bobber must be in open water, defined as the 5×4×5 vicinity around the bobber resting on the water surface (2 blocks away horizontally, 2 blocks above the water surface, and 2 blocks deep).

The barge itself seems to require only 1×2 blocks of water to run, but must it be surrounded by a larger area of water to fetch treasures?

Edit: Nvm, got it. I left a fishing barge idle on 2×1 water column, and after an hour or so it came up with the first treasure. That said, when pulled with a tug it needs a 3×x canal to be located in the middle and work properly, that's what I was trying to find out basically.

yes this is correct, vanilla requirements do not apply.
