Trains would need a Signal to stop it from hitting another train that would be cool for the boats as well so if there more than one route going through the same dock the boat behind will wait for it to be free with a boat Signal and a separate signal to make a train or boat hold a specific position for a set amount of time (Canal lock/elevator/turntable)are some examples of what this could be used for
