The lock can be placed on a double door and people can't open it but if someone with a double door opening mod (like quark) has a good enough lockpick it will be used as a key and open the door while the lock is still closed and without the lockpicking minigame.
Edit: seems like it's also buggy for keys since when a key is used the lock will stay closed but the door will open.
