Feature request: Remote Orderer

A config option for the remote ordered to consume power would be amazing

-1 I don't like the idea. The remote orderer pipe already consumes power. Orderer is just a remote display, nothing else.

i see what you mean but for balance reasons (with other mods) its extremely hard to balance it with so many remote inventories. A multiplier for the pipe would not be hard to implement and i don't find being able to automatically request any item from any location balanced.

Requesting is one thing, but receiving is an another. Remote orderer does not yield item, it needs a special inventory, like EnderStorage's pouch to deliver the item to the player on any location. If you make pouchs or other similar items extremely expensive - remote orderer become unused since there is a very few points where they're useful.

The mod by itself is perfectly balanced that is not the issue
Short version: It would be very nice for the mod to have a power multiplier similar to the crafting one
Long version:
the issue comes when you combine it with mods that can transport items directly to the player because none of those mods have a request from anywhere feature (only a stock or spam)
(i have also made pouches and ender chest(including other transportation mods) extremely expensive and thru through beta testing discovered that its not a good balance)
(and my point still stands from a balancing and connivance perspective(for a modpack maker and or user)it makes sense to add a power multiplier in the configs and not have to implement ridiculous 9x9 crafting recipes that take a month to get to)

I think the imbalance doesnt lie within the Power Cost. Its actually the rather cheap to get Remote Inventories like Enderchest/Bag or similar that imbalance it.

You can allways tweak those recipes or the recipe of the remote orderer itself.
Modpacks wich use LP like FTB Infinity do so since a long time.

Take a look at Minetweaker

I have used minetweaker for quite a wile and have implemented and tested many different recipes for the items that do wireless transport of items and the remote control. but i and other devs of the pack could never find a fair balance.
While the imbalance does not lie with logistic pipes (mod by itself is balanced and fun)
(current balance: defeat 4 non automate withers that teleport pretty much instant kill with most armor
well to make a long story short it would take a MC veteran about a month to get to the item cant imagine how long it would be for a average user ATM)
i believe it would be a lot more balanced and simple to change the pipe(power multiplier) not every transport item in the game.
I wish to give the user a balanced and fun experience and when it comes to this pipe my options are:
-remove the item
-super end game
-decent power consumption
i would like to keep the item because i love the mod and concept(and have loved it since 1.2.5)
and when people get to that level of endgame they usually go to applied energetics it would be nice to see both mods being used.
I would like to point out the statement by"hron84"
"remote orderer become unused since there is a very few points where they're useful"
With wireless transport no matter the initial cost the item is still useful and unbalanced
Taking that statement i assume that this feature was not balanced to be used with so many different forms of wireless item transport and i strongly believe that it requires a re balance when it comes to constant not initial consumption.

I don't think adding a config options is a big deal and I see the reasons for it.

An interim solution for the server admins out there:
The solution we have on my server is that EnderStorage is disabled. RFTools with Storage Module Tablet balanced things out quite nicely. The only other alternative to the RFTools that we have is Pneumaticraft's Aerial Interface, which uses even more power and infrastructure.
