The current method of removing via the cartography table is extremely time consuming and difficult, especially if you have thousands of maps and are forced to scroll through them one by one.

Instead, you should be able to extract maps from within the atlas menu. Essentially, a shears icon appears to the side of the map as long as you have shears in your inventory. Clicking on the shears, then clicking on a map in the GUI will remove it and drop it as an item at your feet. Clicking to the side of the map GUI will then return the shears to their fixed position. Holding the shears and dragging across the map will remove all selected maps at once.

Click on shears button and click on the maps you want to remove. On next update I might make the button a toggle

Hey, how do I shear multiple maps at once? I'm trying the new update but I can't figure it out. Or is that not implemented yet?
