Ive gone after help on the minecraft forums and even the Minefactory reloaded forums to no avail. This feels a bit extreme but I cant think of anywhere else to seek help in understanding why this crash is happening.

Issue resolved, seems the config file I was using was either outdated or corrupt as deleting it and letting it generate a fresh one worked out.
