Basically the title says it, but if we could use the grinder to break down stone or cobble into gravel and then sand would be a neat feature.

This is a solid suggestion. I have added recipes for gravel from cobblestone and sand from gravel, each requiring 200 MU (10 seconds of basic waterwheel power).
