Healing staff doesn't work in v1.4.5

Describe the Issue
Right clicking and holding while holding the healing staff does nothing, and it just looks like the staff gets activated over and over. Here's a video:

Can confirm another strange behaviour on Minecraft 1.20-1, mod version 1.4.8.
The staff deals damage to mobs, if the "healing_staff_owner_healing" option is set to true it heals both the player and also any mob that steps into the area, which is not optimal.
I tried playing around with both that option and "old_healing_staff_behavior" but it has the same behaviour.
Lemme know what can be done, I'd really like to do a build around this staff as it is quite a nice concept! It would be cool too if you could toggle the damage done to mobs in the settings!
