SOUND ISSUE Caused by 6.0.5.46 w/ FTB Monster Pack on MAC

I recently installed 6.0.5.46 of Mekanism on my MC 1.6.4 world in Feed the Beast Monster Pack. The world works fine and has for a long time, until this MOD was added. When I remove the MOD, everything goes back to normal.

Here's the problem:

First, the mod triggers my MAC' Pro Towers Sound card and for the most part the sound works, but only at low level - other wise, it makes the sound sound like my speakers are blown out - but they are not. Its not an error with my card or speakers either - tested that. As I said, If I remove the MOD, it all goes back to normal and everything sounds fine. This mod is definitely causing an error to the sound card.

Secondly, It seems to crash whenever I play in creative and try to break a Universal cable. happens randomly... but every so often, its always the same too, break a universal cable and the game dumps.

Third: Universal cables seem to "forget" to draw/send power from a Quantum generator to a Gregtech Machine (Grinder/Furnace, etc). After a while gregtech machines will indicate "insufficient power" and I have to break the universal cable (basic or ultimate type) and replace a new piece to get the flow going again. I know this is not a setting issue with my machines either... all upgrades are in and working - If I use a Fibre Optic Cable and set my Quantum generator at 8192eu everything works normal. When I use the universal cable instead - it can't keep up and the machine runs low on power. The ginder is 4 sided too and I send 8192 to each machine in each side. Why can't my Universal cable keep up, but a Fibre cable can?

I really hope the developer of this MOD can do some testing with FTB Monster 1.6.4. and figure out the problem - this MOD is turning out to be one of my favorites! And I am so disappointed I had to remove it to keep my world from crashing.

Hello, glad you're enjoying Mekanism!

  1. I have a mac too, and I have been encountering the same issue in testing. While there will be guaranteed a fix in v7, you can temporarily solve the issue by navigating to your Mekanism config file and setting "EnableVoiceServer" to "false."
  2. This has been fixed as well for v7.
  3. This links directly to the previous issue.

Hope this helps!

Hi Aidan,

I know Universal cable is "supposed" to work with EU, from reading your wiki.

However, she I try to use universal cable with an MFSU or a CESU from IC2, I can only TRANSMIT power into the MFSU or CESU, but I can not WITHDRAW EU power from the unit using Universal Cable.

I hooked up a Thermal Expansion Energy Cell and connected it to a MFSU with with the Universal Cable and I can convert RF to EU and fill the MFSU.

But I can not do the opposite, withdrawing EU from the MFSU and fill the energy Cell. Nor can I use the cable to go between a FULL MFSU and fill and EMPTY MFSU, using Universal Cable.

Why?

Another small glitch I found is between EnderIO Energy Conduits and Universal Cable.

If I try to connect an EnderIO conduit to a piece of Universal Cable that is already placed in the world, it won't connect. However, If I already have the EnderIO Conduit down on the ground in the world, and then place a Mek Universal Cable next to it, it connects!

I am using:

MC: 1.7.10
Forge: 10.13.0.1208
Mekanism: 1.7.10-7.1.1.98
IC2: industrialcraft-2-2.2.617-experimental

One small question from C. O.: are you sure you have connected the cable to
the right side?

You'll need to set the relevant side to PULL with a Configurator to extract from IC2 sources. Has to remove proper EnergyNet integration a while ago because multiparts were crashing IC2.
