mekanism machines draining endless amounts of power when buildcraft is installed

mekanism machines seem to drain all the power they can when buildcraft is also installed.
to reproduce:
- place down a charged energy cube
- connect it to a random mekanism machine(crusher for example) via universal cables
- watch the energy cube drain
mods installed:

Mekanism 7.0.0.80
Buildcraft 6.0.17
