I got this error today after connecting an electric pump to a power source. It only happens in multiplayer, water pumps works fine on singleplayer worlds.

To fix this I had to user MCEdit to delete the water pump and the ticks related to that block.
The server starts fine but it crashes as soon as any player logs in.
Edit: after some research I noticed that it's a problem regarding mechanical pumps. Pumps are able to take the water in (I tried with the IC2 pump) but when the water starts going through the mechanical pipe the server crashes.
Okay, Blood Altar 1 -> blood Tank -> Blood Altar 2. Blood tank already had LP in it. Blood altar 1 is successfully extracting and had filled up 3 tanks. I moved 1 tank, and ran line from it to blood altar 2, but blood altar 2 wasn't upgraded much, so it didn't take much out of the tank. Then i ran more line from blood altar 1 to the tank. as soon as I placed the last piece of cable connecting the altar to the tank, we crashed. Running regrowth. Log provided.

Some more info.
I noticed that it often crashes when no player is on the server. Is it a chunk thing?
This keeps happening to me unfortunately. Even after updating.
I THINK I might have narrowed it down to Drums and/or Minefactory reloaded machines, but it's hard to tell since the crashes are very random, and quite frequent.

I believe it is cross-chunk related.
As stated earlier i suspected the crashes on my server to be related to a Salination Plant that had a chunk border running through the middle of it.
After now having the location chunkloaded for a few days (with NO crashes in the period), i am fairly certain i was correct in my assumption.
Oh! That crash is in a different place now! We might be able to fix it this time, will need to take a look.
It looks like the problem is solved! I'm still having a few other issues, but this error seems to be gone. I'll get back if it happens again! Great work.

I think i MAY have an idea as to what causes this (at least on my server)
We have a Salination Plant with a chunk border running through the middle of it, and every time after the server has crashed the Salination Plant has been "unformed".
Thinking back, this happened 3 times yesterday with me alone on the server, and every time it was when i was running around "exploring" somewhat close to home.
so Aidan, could the Salination Plant crash the server if only half of it is chunkloaded?
I don't think so, no.
This is a ridiculous bug, though, that could only be caused if another thread was accessing the network's stored fluid cache while it was being modified (a 1 in a billion chance). I'll leave it open for a bit, but I will warn that I may not be able to fix it.
Currently i'm the only player on our server using the pipes and this didn't start to happen until i connected a couple of MFR harvesters to steel drums for collecting the sludge. Previously running water to boilers and farms didn't cause any problems. Crashes occur only when i'm not around. Something to do with chunk loading then?
Some added info: Appears that 2 of the 3 drums used to store sludge were inside chunk-loaded chunk, while the last one was not. Maybe useful maybe not.
