I upgraded from Mekanism-1.7.10-7.0.0.75 to Mekanism-1.7.10-7.1.1.102 and I find that the functionality of wrenches on Mekanism energy cube blocks has changed to face the direction clicked versus cycling through the facings. I tried with wrenches from Applied Energistics, EnderIO, and Thermal Expansion.

Is this an intended change? I had difficulty locating a change log outside the short list on the downloads page. If find inability to change the orientation towards facings that connect to machines or conduits that I cannot reach without removing said machines/conduit frustrating.

It was intentional, yes. You can also turn the cube away from you by shift-right-clicking with a rotation tool (that might dismantle the block with a wrench, if so try a configurator in Rotate mode).
