Universal cables don't deliver power from industrial craft 2 power sources like batbox or any generator even though they connect to the output.
Batbox and MFFS can still be charged with Universal cables.

IC2 version 2.2.645 experimental

MK epipes need to be in "import " mode.

Exactly that, yes. Shift-configurate the connected side to put it into PULL mode.
