I am not able to drain energy from my MFSU using an Ultimate Universal Cable. When I wire it up to a machine that puts demand on the system it just sits there. What I find very odd is I can push energy into an MFSU just not pull it.

Sorry... Pull mode? I have never had to configure universal cable to do such before.

Shift-configurate the side you want to pull with and it should change mode and say what mode it's changing to.
