Not possible to extract items from Energy Cubes

Minecraft v. 1.7.10
Mekanism v. 7.1.1.145

I can't extract items from any of the energy cubes. I can input items to the - slot through the sides and to the + slot through top and bottom, It's not possible to extract from either of the sides.
