I frequently find that a more capable item buffer would be very handy.

Here are the features I would like to see:

• Variable amount of item slots (1-9 at least)
• Variable max stack sizes (ie: stop accepting items into the slot when there are x or more items in it)
• Independent redstone controllable output and input settings. (ie: you can set it to only allow items to be inputted with a redstone signal and to always output items)

This way it can be used to regulate the flow of items into automatic machinery.
