When you have many devices or build many new once. It would come handy if you could save the configuration and amount of upgrades in an item and then apply it do other machines of the same type.
The installed upgrades are required to be in the players inventory.

Configuration Cards can already be used to store machine configurations. I don't think it's too hard to add the upgrades yourself.
