I have tried using the box blacklist but it does not accept * to block all.
Minecraft: 1.12.2
Mechanism: 9.8.3.390

Best bet might be to just blacklist every mod in your modpack. Not sure it would allow for you to place it then, but you are right the blacklist does not support wildcards.
