Energy cube floating core visual glitch w. shaders

Issue description

With shaders enabled (like BSL), the core of an Energy Cube will produce some sort of transparent, colored projection onto the ground. This visual glitch appears even at great distance and it seems somehow tied to the world grid along the north-south axis and the direction of sunlight.

The issue does not seem particular to any version of NeoForge or Iris Shaders. Results may vary, however, with the kind of shader pack installed:

  • Bliss: Black, faint and blurry.
  • BSL: Colored with very clear detail.
  • Complementary Unbound: Does not appear.
  • IterationT: Brightly colored, but blurry.
  • MakeUp - Ultra Fast: Black color, blurry.

Example image with BSL shaders:

It may be related to issue #7677, but the visual glitch is very different.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Activate a shader pack (like BSL) in settings.
  2. In a game world, place down any Energy Cube that has energy stored in it.
  3. Observe Energy Cube from various angles at pretty much any distance.
  4. The visual glitch should reveal itself!

Does it work without shaders?

Hi thiakil, there are no issues when shader packs are disabled!

Well, much like the other issue you linked its an Iris issue

All right. In that case, I suppose I will have to report the issue on their github page instead. Thanks for the quick response!
