Thanks, I've been trying again but unfortunately I still don't manage to get thing working. We (actually my son) use the 1.6 launcher. I created a version of 1.10.2 to mod. I edited the json to prevent the automatic redownloading of the jar file (removing the last block of download statements) . After that I copied the mod files into the jar. If I put the mendelcraf directory in the assets it stays there but I don't find any of the dna tools in mine craft. If I directly add the subdirs into mincraft, there still is some updating going on and I don't find them as well. If you have some hints....
