Arrow and ghosts issues

It's not a bug per se, but rather a functionnality problem, and since one of us always fight this way he gets lots of damage this way.
so if possible, I would suggest that either :
- ghost morphs let arrows trough, or better yet
- like iChun's morph did, the morph entity could be automatically acquired when the player kill the creature. After all, other players can't take them anyway, and it would prevent the map getting clustered with dozens of ghost each nights. (and that would be easier to code). Maybe make this optionnal by configuration?
Thanks for report! :)
I'm not really sure which version do you use, but I included configuration of morph spawning by default to prevent them from spawning more than once, if player already has one. However, that might be a good idea to add this as an option.
Although, I also can make allow ghosts to let arrows to go through them. I'm already in development of 1.1 update, so this will be fixed as soon as I'll finish with 1.1 (or maybe as a patch, not sure).
thank you for looking into this.
since we couldn't find a configuration available, we just noticed that we were in fact playing with the 1.0 version of your mod... we found it on minecraft-france (https://www.minecraft-france.fr/mod-metamorph/) but we didn't follow the link to your repository, we downloaded it there not realising it was outdated.
We tried your latest version today and as you said the ghosts just appear until it's aquired. I'm deeply sorry if our mistake cost you time.
I think it would still be better if arrows could get through, but it's way less dangerous now.
Anyway, thank you so much for having made this mod, it allowed me to convince the rest of the family to ugrade from minecraft 1.7.10 to 1.10.2. They wouldn't play without morphing abilities.
Happy new year
@Ichirou-Tomoe sorry for late response, I was working on a new mod and a video for it, thus forgot to reply back, but now I'm back and ready to finish finally 1.1
update ๐
Metamorph WIP GIF.
Oh, I see. Well, that's the problem with repost websites. They don't really bother to update some of mods with small updates (only if big happened, I guess), but I do understand that it's a lot of work, since they probably have thousand of mod articles! A lot of work!
Well, I'm not really sure if I could to implement that arrows will go through those ghosts, but I'll let you know if I'll be able to ๐
That's great, thanks for using my mod and for reporting the issue!
Sorry to be slightly off topic but it sort of applies. I also didn't think a whole new issue was needed. Any chance you can put the mod up on curseforge? That would help us modpack makers :)
@grydian yes, I planned it upload it after 1.1
update. Since you mentioned modpacks, could you explain me how publishing mods on curseforge helps modpack makers? I'm not a modpack maker, but I want to make a modpack of all my mods (machinima making modpack ๐), could you share experience about making modpacks? ๐
Sure :) Having a modpack and playing it with friends is key. Curseforge allows me to build a pack based on mods hosted there. Then I share to my friends who are not as good as I am with this stuff the modpack I built and tested. If there are any mods we want to use not on curseforge they have to be installed manually. This while is trivial to most tech people is fairly hard for the casual gamer. That is really the main reason curseforge is so helpful. Especially given that a server and client mod list must match exactly. In the old days of multimc this process would be fairly annoying but now with no item ID conflicts and curseforge allowing you to just click to install mods its became very very easy. The only issue is they reject modpacks created without the mod being hosted on curseforge or approved for use. There is a third party mod supported list out there like mekanism for instance which is allowed to be in packs but the files are on his actual website. Like right now ars magica 2 is being updated for 1.10.2 but he hasn't released it on curseforge yet. Though I hear soon it will be. Then modpacks can be built with ars magica 2 again. Anyways if you have any questions feel free to ask me anytime.
@grydian thanks for explanation! Okay, I get what you mean, so curseforge provides a some kind of repository for creating modpacks. This is really cool!
I was thinking I would definitely forget to upload Metamorph on curseforge after release of 1.1
, so I decided to that now ๐
Here's the link. It's not approved at the moment I was writing, so just wait few minutes or so. Let me know if something went wrong.
