Need some help on how to used the mod, english not good!

I have a Yamaha midi digital keyboard
but I can't use the keyboard as an input

Hello! I will do my best to try to explain how to setup a MIDI instrument but let me know if you don't understand anything and I'll try to say it another way! 🙂

To use a MIDI Instrument in MIMI:

  1. Connect your instrument to your PC and make sure your PC detects it (I think you have probably already done this). I usually check that mine is working by hopping onto https://multiplayerpiano.com/ in Google Chrome and you should be able to use it there.

  2. Start Minecraft

  3. Once in-game hit the , key on your keyboard (if you're not using a standard English keyboard layout I'm not totally sure what key it will be by default but you can check the controls menu and look for the option that says "Open MIDI Input Device Configuration GUI"

  4. That should open up the MIDI Device GUI which will let you select what MIDI device MIMI should use. It should look like this:

  1. Use the arrows to select your MIDI Input Device. If your device doesn't show up in the list that means for some reason Java can't find it.

  2. Once you have a device selected you can close the MIDI Device GUI and grab an instrument. In order to enable MIDI input you have to insert a Switchboard into the instrument and then click on the pencil to edit the Switchboard properties. Once you have the properties visible click on the button to enable MIDI input here. Finally enable the MIDI channel in the instrument that your MIDI Device is sending data on. If you don't know which channel it's using you can enable all of them. I tried to show these steps here:

Then you should be able to get MIDI input into the instrument! Let me know if that helps!
