Is there an existing issue for this?

  • I have searched the existing issues.

Are you using the latest MineColonies Version?

  • I am running the latest beta/release version of MineColonies for my Minecraft version.
I am also running the latest versions of other mods that are part of my problem.

Did you check on the Wiki? or ask on Discord?

  • I checked the MineColonies Wiki and made sure my issue is not covered there. Or I was sent from discord to open an issue here.

What were you playing at the time? Were you able to reproduce it in both settings?

Current Behavior

Farmers plant/harvest for one cycle then go idle. When you interact they say "I'm waiting for something" "Where's the courier", but have no open requests. All items they need are in their inventories. They only restart work after a re log, and then break after one cycle again.

Expected Behavior

Farmers should plant/harvest continuously.

Reproduction Steps

Start game
Watch farmer for plant/harvest cycle.
Farmer stops working

Ideas: It could be compost they are waiting for, or possibly a hoe if they ran out of tools. Basic regular-use items should be checked on occasion as the colonists don't always state they need them.

So I've been running into the same issue, they have tools and I've turned off requesting for fertilizer. Sometimes I do give them some fertilizer if I have and they still do the same thing.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem to be that simple. I've tried changing their tools, making sure they're stocked with compost, removing and resupplying the seed stock, firing and re-hiring, pause/restart etc. The only thing that makes them work is re starting the world and then they break again after a cycle.
My food supply is beginning to suffer and my colonists are planning to revolt xD

Someone suggested they fixed this issue for themselves by turning day cycle back on. Do y'all have day cycle turned off?

It was working just fine before I updated to the newest version 2 days ago, so I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it.

But do you have day/night cycle on?

It's on yes

Ok, still might help for other people that have been saying nothing's happening then! Farmer only does one action per field per day, so guessing with day/night off, nothing happens?

commented

Glad you found a possible solution! That's a great point on the day/night cycle. After a few rounds (not sure how many), the colonists will start complaining about various things.

I've always had day/night cycle on, yes. I've rolled back to the 22 May version where it's working fine... until there's a solution. Not ideal, but at least can keep the food coming in xD

They should still take care of their fields once a day. So the food production should be the same as before mostly if not more as they more efficiently tend the fields. I could not locally repro the complaint yet. The standing at the hut relaxing is correct behaviour after they finished their fields.

Also could not reproduce this... When the farmer enters the forever-idle state at the end of their one working cycle, what does their status show up as if you do an /mc citizens info <farmer's citizen ID> ?

Their state stays PREPARING

I don't know if this belongs here but I can't build the project now because harleyoconnor.com's certificate expired. Dynamictree dependency is on its maven.

Edit : "fixed" it by manually downloading DynamicTrees into mavenLocal
