I was sent to provide an update on the chef complaining of low variety of food by Anyanka and Shindria after providing the results of a study done over two days.

There are no other dependencies that relate to this error that I know of.

Current Behavior

My chef continues to be the one complainer about food. She is saying she wishes there was more variety in the restaurant. Since no one else is consistently complaining, I sat around and watched her for two real life days. It turns out that she is retaining food in her inventory, and eating that before anything else.

As an example, I began watching her while she was actively making food. I watched her by keeping her inventory all the time. I watched her take on ingredients, and put up finished foods. When I opened her inventory, she had 10 ramen in her inventory and was making sushi. Over the course of a few Minecraft days, she would make various foods, and never put the last ten ramen on the shelf. At first, I missed it; food would go missing, and I'd think she must be putting it on the rack.

The second (real life) day, I caught her red-handed. She had 10 spicy eggplant in her inventory and was making food. She put all but 10 spicy eggplant in the racks. Then she ate the spicy eggplant, went and sat at the restaurant, and grabbed just one raw garlic as she went. She sat there with 9 spicy eggplant and one garlic (10 items). Then she ate another spicy eggplant, was never served by the cook, and went back to work. The first thing she did when she went back to work was make a singular ramen and another load of spicy eggplant. Once again, everything except ten of the spicy eggplant went into her racks.

No wonder she's consistently complaining. She's eating from her inventory, so the cook updates aren't affecting her. And since she's eating from the first ten items in her inventory, she's never cycling out of those same ten items. She would have to eat ten of the same item in a row without the restaurant asking for that same item to be made (which means no one else would be able to eat it, either) before she would "use up" those ten items and get something different.

Expected Behavior

I expect the chef to put all of the food she makes onto the shelves for delivery to the restaurant. Further, when she gets hungry, I expect her to not go to her racks to get food. Instead, I expect her to sit at the restaurant like the other citizens and be served by the cook.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Level your colony to the point where you have several gold tier Minecolonies foods, tier 5 restaurant, tier 5 cookery, and no one else is complaining.

  2. Note that your chef complains anyway, dismiss the complaint, and then begin to watch his/her actions.

  3. Monitor the chef and all actions until he/she is hungry enough to eat. Food retention should be obvious immediately. The chef eating from the retained food may take a couple of days, depending on how much saturation you have researched.

Logs

Please let me know if you need logs. I'll be glad to reproduce the issue and capture logs as needed.
