Current Behavior

The Shepherd's Hut at level 5 does not maintain the expected maximum of 10 sheep. Instead, the number of sheep gradually decreases over time and can drop below 5, despite the shepherd having all necessary tools (shears and axe), sufficient wheat for breeding, and all AI settings (Breeding, Feeding, Shearing) enabled. The shepherd does not seem to reproduce or maintain the sheep population as intended.

Expected Behavior

The Shepherd's Hut at level 5 should maintain up to 10 sheep (2 sheep per level), by actively breeding, feeding, and shearing them as needed. The shepherd should keep the sheep population stable or growing when resources and tools are available, preventing the number from dropping below this expected maximum.

Reproduction Steps

  1. Build and upgrade a Shepherd's Hut to level 5.
  2. Ensure all AI tasks are enabled for the shepherd: Breeding, Feeding, Shearing.
  3. Provide the shepherd with necessary tools: shears and an axe.
  4. Supply sufficient wheat for breeding.
  5. Observe the number of sheep in the pen over time.
  6. Notice that the sheep population does not maintain or increase to the expected maximum of 10, but instead decreases, sometimes dropping below 5.

The hearders AI job seems to have a chance to run the butcher code before the breeding or feeding code. I was also seeing a chickenherder killing adult chickens while none of them was in breeding timer countdown on the chicken itself. That could line up with your issue.
