
Builder Doesn't Work

Is there an existing issue for this?

Are you using the latest MineColonies Version?
- I am running the latest beta/release version of MineColonies for my Minecraft version.
I am also running the latest versions of other mods that are part of my problem.
Did you check on the Wiki? or ask on Discord?
- I checked the MineColonies Wiki and made sure my issue is not covered there. Or I was sent from discord to open an issue here.
What were you playing at the time? Were you able to reproduce it in both settings?

Current Behavior
Builder permanently sits in "idle" mode despite build requests.
This is what I wrote in the discord: "So I'm on the newest version of Minecolonies for 1.21 (1.1.1062) and my builder is just stuck in "idle" mode? I know the new update just dropped and that includes leisure, but my builder refuses to build. I have a build order out for them to build a forestor's hut, but they will not recognize it and start working. The townhall says that there is a build order, I have fired and rehired the worker, I have even specifically assigned it to my builder, and I've canceled the build and re-requested the build but nothing is working."
I also tried to get the builder to build a couple of different buildings none of which worked. I reverted the Minecolonies version to 1.1.1056 and the builder started to work again.
This world was created two days ago and the builder's hut is the only building currently built. It was built before updating to the newest release, and I haven't been able to build anything since the release. I did not test this on a new colony created on this release.
Several other people mentioned that they were also having this issue in response to me posting this in the discord and a moderator asked me to submit a bug report here.
Expected Behavior
Builder leaves "idle" mode after build request is received to allow the colony to progress forward.
Reproduction Steps
- Load up your world on minecolonies 1.1.1062-1.21.1
- Found a colony
- Ask the builder to build something when in idle mode.
- Builder does not recognize the request (in hut block or resource scroll), but everything else does (townhall & confirmation that the request is sent in chat).

Happened to me as well, when looking at the building task, it appears to be stuck on step 0/0 which prompts no requests or tasks.
Seems like the feature #11057 broke the builders. Reverting from 1.1.1062-1.21.1 (August, 4) to 1.1.1056-1.21.1 (July, 28) fixed the issue.
It looks like it will be fixed by #11064
I don't know if we should start a new issue for this or not, but as of .995 couple people saying their builders still not working right

That person had to delete all the workstations and replace them to get them to work again

Beat me to it, I'll be commenting in a moment with my findings by downgrading to .985 and then straight to .995
Builders started working and no problems on .985
They're still working on .995 and I see no reason for it to break but I need to give it some playtime to fully verify
After further playtesting, it's still bugged. Once they finish the construction order (that started on the time I had spent on .985 making sure it worked) the builder I was watching seemed to get confused and didn't start the next one, just went into idle mode. Followed him around for a day and the next and he didn't snap out of it.
Edit: I'm doing cavern and was conveniently upgrading the megahall courier huts which I was doing en-masse which is why it was fairly obvious what seemed to be happening.
After a bit of further testing on random ideas I had, I have always assigned builders directly to every construction, and I tried just not assigning anyone and letting it autoassign, but nothing happened still. I also tried hiring someone completely new and they went straight to idling even with the construction specifically applied to them again.
I also want to state that I've been monitoring the discord and several people are cropping up with the same issue. If you want me to direct them here let me know, and I'm down to do anything potentially needed. I have a heavily modded pack and the add-ons I have that would affect minecolonies are stylecolonies, town talk, and War N' Taxes (I think that only adds systems that hook in as opposed to changing anything). Also the dependencies.

The dude's solution didn't work for me, and removing war n taxes had no effect regretfully
