When the pirate ship despawns, everything that was replaced comes back.

Not a bug.

though IIRC they do cause inventories to drop their contents, so they probably do cause item-loss unfortunately

The inventory (as well as the rest of the area where the pirate ship is being placed) is scanned beforehand, and pasted back afterwards.
So those dropped items would rather duplicate if picked up, than be lost if not picked up

So destroying blocks because that thing has to fit 'there' and, lets say, not 10 block more out, is good practice?
i consider this a bug.

same thing goes for raider spawn in poarticular, or rather thier pathfinding. several times i had them outright replace a block, that was not naturally placed and not even close to thier path with a ladder - which also persist in the world and have to be removed manually.

not a bug. /sarcasm.

also, no, not everything comes back. had to fix that peer manually.

Will be improved soon in the mod, those schematics were missing placeholders they have no, so those parts no longer get replaced
