Repositioning of buildings very hard to use

Expected behavior
Once you click reposition the preview should start with the current position and orientation of the building.
Also the building tool should be able to "continue" a repositioning like you can do with planning a new build.
Maybe the preview should "ghost" through solid blocks so that you can see it even if it mostly overlaps with the exiting build (eg ignore depth buffer while rendering the preview).
Actual behaviour
It seems that once I click reposition I get a default orientation - it's actually very hard to see what I get as it mostly overlaps with the existing build. But if the position / orientation would be the same as it currently is then I wouldn't see anything of the preview - but something is visible (rotated maybe even translated).
When I then press ESC to view the preview (using flight, jet packs etc) I can't resume/adjust the new positioning using the building tool (it instead tries to plan a new build).
And right clicking on the building core again only gives me the normal UI with "upgrade building -> reposition) which starts at step 1 again.
I tried this with the medieval oak town hall and the medieval oak builder's hut. But only with one orientation (entry to the north).
Steps to reproduce the problem
- Have finished a building
- Try to reposition this build
- Get lost in where the new building would be placed :/

Have you also experienced the issue with repositioning where the builder will come along, destroy the old building, dig up the first layer of ground (for some reason, the building has been placed correctly) and then not build the building until you come along and re-request it?
@Enverex yes - I had the case where the builder would dig a huge hole covering the old building place and the new building place (for both the builder's hut and the fisher's hut). And only build it after I started a new build request.
But in other cases (where I moved my restaurant) the builder was just removing the blocks which overlapped old and new place and didn't fit/where different and then placed the new blocks.
I also discovered that building/moving a fisher's hut is very problematic as he tries to dig up the water (which reappears faster than he can dig it up). Had to place EnderIO's industrial insulation (super sponges) to get rid of all water so that he could dig the big hole. But this was only after rotating and moving the fisher's hut - not the initial build or any upgrades.
In addition to this, repositioning ends up with the building built the wrong way. Very frustrating to try to use this since the plan doesn't match what it shows.
you use the GUI. ESC out of it, go outside look how it looks, go inside, adjust, go outside, etc. Am Mo., 5. Aug. 2019 um 23:50 Uhr schrieb Sharkiller < [email protected]>:

reposition is useless. you are inside the house and you cant close the ui from the building tool or the reposition is canceled. you cant view anything from inside the house, how are we supposed to reposition the huts if we cant see where to put it? — You are receiving this because you are subscribed to this thread. This does work but it is very time consuming and also does not allow you to change the type at the same time as repositioning
Yeah we will improve this in the future
Perhaps the logical process would be to give the builders wand a new feature so it behaves differently with a 'Shift-right-click' on an already placed building core? Or just make it contextual without the need for modifier keys.

you cant. because if you esc you cant modify the position again. if you go to reposition again, the GUI reset to default position
