Armor has no effect on damage taken by Guards.

Prerequisites

  • I am running the latest alpha version of MineColonies and Structurize for my Minecraft version.
  • I checked the MineColonies/Structurize wiki and made sure my issue is not covered there.
  • I made sure that this issue is not a duplicate of any existing issue.

Context

  • Minecraft Version: 1.16.5
  • MineColonies Version: minecolonies-0.14.327-BETA-universal
  • Structurize Version: structurize-0.13.208-ALPHA-universal
  • Related Mods and their Versions: Forge 36.2.2, torohealth-1.16.4-forge-4, Neat-Mod-1.16.5

Expected behavior

Guards taking less damage than if they were wearing no armor.

Actual behavior

My knights suddenly started getting slaughtered by raiders with a recent update of minecolonies where as before they had much better survivability in a fight. Guards equip armor as normal. Armor takes durability damage as normal. The equipped armor gives no extra survivability no matter the type. Torohealth and Neat mod also report the entity as having no armor points.

Steps to reproduce the issue

  1. Build a guard tower to level 5 and hire a guard.
  2. Provide guard with armor and fire/rehire to confirm it is equipped.
  3. Spawn mobs / raids for the guard to fight, observe guard health with and without armor equipped.

Notes

Hard mode. Presence of shield seems to reduce damage but not block it entirely when a knight blocks (that may be the intended function, I do not know). Armor researches in the university have no effect.
