Some Villager professions are almost impossible to find and in the cases where you do find them, they are always married or the child of someone. Farmers, Fisherman, Librarians, and Shepherds seem to be the only type of NPC's to not be always guaranteed to be married and/or be the child of another family. Maybe increase the chances of certain professions and increase chances of those villagers being single?
