Same issue, tho I wouldn't describe it quite so poetically. :) MCA 6.0.1, 224 other mods I'm not gonna bother listing unless you really want me to. Only ones in common with OP are chickenlib&journeymap.
Heroes and Archers seem to just....head out of town and keep going. I've found them more than a region away from the nearest village. Also, villagers seem to be spawning without a set home point, because I'll find these heroes, click 'go home', they say they will, and they stand there. This also happens while in villages and...you know what, that's a separate issue, spawning without a set home, I'm gonna go see if there's an existing issue for it and make one if not.

I'm in a biome bundles world gen and have expanded out a custom village gradually and I get the occasional warrior type ending up somewhere off in the distance on a hill going off towards the next biome. I seem to mitigate it by setting each guard their own home location in a guard hut, then setting them two locations to basically "patrol" using work points and hang out points. Haven't noticed a wanderer in a while provided their locations are all set properly.
